Nico Hurst

Investment Principal

Nico Hurst is an Investment Principal at The Glenview Trust Company. He brings experience across public markets, with a background spanning portfolio management, bond trading, equity research, and systematic investing.

Prior to joining Glenview, Nico spent four years at Avalon Advisors in Houston, where he served as co-portfolio manager for a hybrid securities strategy. At Avalon, he traded corporate bonds, performed equity research, and advised on the firm’s external hedge fund investments. He later founded Caiman Capital Group in Houston and spent four years managing a small hedge fund that leveraged self-built AI algorithms to estimate companies’ future financials.

Across his career, Nico has managed funds and SMA-based investment strategies covering a broad range of public securities, including corporate bonds, municipal bonds, U.S. equities, preferred equities, and derivatives.

Nico earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and an M.S. in Finance from Texas A&M University, with minors in Mathematics and Physics. He is a CFA charterholder.
