LEONARD M. SPALDING, JR.

Director Emeritus

Mr. Spalding retired in 1998 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Chase Global Mutual Funds Corporation (now J. P. Morgan Chase Mutual Funds), which is located in New York City. He also retired as a member of the Fund’s Board of Directors and as Chairman of its Investment Committee.

Mr. Spalding joined Chase Manhattan Bank in New York in 1989 as Chief Investment Executive of the Global Private Banking organization. Prior to this he held a number of executive positions with Kemper Financial Services and The Northern Trust Company, both located in Chicago. He also served on the Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute and as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association.

Since returning to Springfield, Kentucky, his childhood home, Mr. Spalding has actively pursued a number of civic and philanthropic causes. He is currently a Trustee Emeritus of Bellarmine University and served on the Catholic Education Foundation Board. He was also a member of the Springfield- Washington County Economic Development Board and recently retired as its chairman.

Mr. Spalding holds an AB Degree from Bellarmine University and an MBA degree in finance from Indiana University.
